What's The Difference Between A Tube And A Galvanized Pipe?
- Aug 07, 2018 -

Welded steel pipe, also known as welded pipe, is made of steel plate or strip rolled after welding and made of steel tube, generally 6 meters in length. Welded steel pipe production process is simple, high production efficiency, variety specifications, equipment investment is small, but the general strength is lower than seamless steel pipe.

Classification by use

It is also divided into general welding pipe, galvanized pipe, oxygen blowing pipe, wire sleeve, common pipe, roller tube, deep well pump tube, automobile pipe, transformer pipe, welding thin wall tube, electric welding special-shaped tube, scaffolding tube and spiral welded pipe.

General welded pipe: General welded pipe for conveying low pressure fluid. It is made of Q195A, Q215A and Q235A steel. It is also possible to make use of other soft steel which is easily welded. The steel pipe should carry out the test of water pressure, bending and flattening. There is a certain requirement on the surface quality, usually the delivery length is 4-10m, and the delivery is often required. The specification of welded pipe is different from the nominal diameter of nominal diameter (millimeter or inch). The welded pipe is divided into two kinds, ordinary steel pipe and thick steel pipe according to the specified thickness, and two kinds of pipe are threaded and without thread.

Galvanized steel pipe: to improve the corrosion resistance of steel pipes, galvanized steel pipes (black pipes). Galvanized steel pipes are divided into two types, hot galvanizing and electric steel zinc.

Oxygen blow welded pipe: used as oxygen blowing pipe for steel making, usually with small diameter welded steel pipe, the specification is 3/8 inch -2 inch eight. Made of 08, 10, 15, 20, or Q195-Q235 steel strips. In order to prevent corrosion, some aluminizing treatment.

Wire sleeve: Ordinary carbon steel welded steel pipe, used in concrete and various structural distribution projects, the commonly used nominal diameter from 13-76mm. The wall of the bushing is thinner, most of which are used after coating or galvanizing, and the cold bending test is required.

Public welded pipe: welded pipe used as a seamless tube, used for welded steel tubes with outer diameter * thickness millimeter, used in tropical and cold zones of ordinary carbon steel, high quality carbon steel or universal low alloy steel, or by cold transfer after tropical welding.  Common welded pipe is divided into universal energy and thin wall, commonly used as structural parts, such as transmission shaft, or conveying fluid, thin wall used to produce furniture, lamps and so on, to ensure the strength and bending test of steel pipe.

Roller pipe: It is used to weld steel pipe for belt conveyor roller. It is generally made of Q215, Q235A, B and 20 steel with diameter of 63.5-219.0 mm. There is a certain requirement for the pipe bending and the end face to be perpendicular to the center line and the ellipticity.

Transformer pipe: used in the manufacture of transformer cooling tubes and other heat exchangers, which are made of ordinary carbon steel, and require flattening, expanding, bending, and hydraulic tests. The steel pipe is delivered at fixed length or double foot, which has certain requirements for the bending of the steel pipe.

Special-shaped tube: square tube, rectangular tube, cap tube and air glue steel door and window used for steel strip welding of common carbon structure steel and 16Mn steel strip. It is mainly used as agricultural machinery component and steel window door.

Welded thin walled tubes: mainly used for making furniture, toys, lamps and lanterns. In recent years, thin walled tubes made of stainless steel strip are widely used, such as high-grade furniture, decoration, railings and so on.

Spiral welded pipe: the low carbon carbon structural steel or low alloy structural steel strip is rolled into tube blank according to a certain spiral angle (called forming angle), and then welded together, it can produce large diameter steel pipe with narrow strip steel. Spiral welded pipe is mainly used for pipeline transportation of oil and natural gas, and its specification is expressed by outer diameter * wall thickness. Spiral welded pipes with one-side welding and two-side welding, welded pipes should ensure that the hydraulic test, weld tensile strength and cold bending performance to meet the requirements.
